Observing experience
60+ nights using the Himalayan Chandra Telescope. Principal investigator for HCT regular and target-of-opportunity proposals (2020–2024), GROWTH–India photometric follow-up (2022–2023), and the AstroSat Cycle A13 proposal X-ray Observation of Symbiotic Stars, with 45 ks of allocated observing time. Spectroscopic observations with HCT/VBO, photometric observations with GIT, and planning and coordinating target-of-opportunity observations.
Technical expertise
Spectroscopy & photometry
IRAF, PyRAF, Specutils, Astropy, Photutils; spectral extraction, flux and equivalent-width measurements, PSF photometry, and light-curve analysis. Time-resolved spectroscopy, Python-based reduction pipelines, spectral calibration and analysis, and variability studies of transient sources.
Programming & analysis
Python, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Astroquery, SciPy, IDL, and SQL; Lomb–Scargle periodograms, phase dispersion minimisation, emission-line diagnostics, spectral energy distribution and continuum modelling, and multi-wavelength analysis.
